Have been tried before and even though the GSM part is secure in the air, the telco has access to the data - maybe that's fine if they're controlling the billing and remittance to the vendor. Encrypted messages now open up the possibility for paying for things via SIM where the vendor charges your account (wherever that is managed) and the telco's just a message transport agent.</description>
